Background and Education
Born in Badagry, Lagos State, to the Royal family of Awesu. Halilu Senu Awesu is a young leader, an advocate for child rights and youth empowerment. he earned a diploma in Computer Craft from the Government Technical College, Ado Soba. He furthered his education in Computer Science at Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa.
Rotaract Life
Awesu as Fondly called in Rotaract circle joined the Rotaract family in the year 2014-2015, Be a gift Rotary year, introduced to the Rotaract Club of Ajara by Past President Makinde Lukmon PHF. Since then, he has grown into a pivotal figure within the Rotaract community, holding numerous impactful positions:

During his tenure as the Zonal Rotaract Representative (ZRR) of Rotaract Zone M, District 9110, Awesu demonstrated exceptional leadership by fostering unity among members and implementing numerous innovative ideas that significantly transformed the zone. Under his guidance, Zone M experienced remarkable growth, rising from a relatively low-performing zone to becoming one of the most outstanding zones in the district. Through his dedication and visionary approach, Awesu left a lasting legacy in Rotaract Zone M, setting a standard for future leaders to build upon and ensuring that the zone remained a formidable force within District 9110. As ZRR he also masterminded the Badagry Community Outreach Project (2020), a landmark initiative involving over 40 volunteers and impacting communities in Badagry. This earned him a spot among Badagry's 50 Most Influential/Inspiring Young Persons. His tenure was marked by several groundbreaking initiatives, most notably the first-ever Zonal Award Night, which he conceptualized and executed under the theme "The Trailblazer Night."

Professional and Advocacy Work
Halilu Currently serves as the National Coordinator of the African Movement of Working Children and Youth (AMWCY) – MAEJT Nigeria. Through his role, he champions children's rights and advocates for the inclusion of youth in decision-making processes.
His notable contributions include:
Serving as the National Communication Officer and Project Manager for the CORAL Project, which protects migrant children along the Abidjan-Lagos corridor.
Coordinating the West Africa Network for the Protection of Migrant/Working Children in Nigeria.
Acting as Program Advisory Group Member to The Freedom Fund in Nigeria for protecting child domestic workers from harm.
Halilu has implemented various projects in collaboration with International organizations like Terre des Hommes, Save the Children, Plan International, and Little Hands. He has also attended conferences, trainings and seminars at more than 11 African countries, including Senegal, Cote D’voire, Ghana, and Ethiopia where he actively advocates for equal opportunities for young people, especially working children and Youth.

As a passionate changemaker, Halilu founded:
Rota_Focus Initiative, a media platform promoting the activities and image of Rotary/Rotaract.
One Afrika Initiative, an NGO uniting and empowering young Africans.
Personal Interests
Halilu is a pan-Africanist and a free thinker who enjoys traveling, meeting goal-oriented individuals, and exploring new cultures. A devoted Arsenal FC fan, he also finds joy in working towards the betterment of humanity.
Currently single, Halilu continues to dedicate his life to service, advocacy, and creating opportunities for vulnerable populations across Africa.
